Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- Your product catalog's information.
- Your blogs, articles and pages.
In addition to this information, you may also explicitly enable certain options that will allow us to collect additional data to provide more features, including, but not limited to:
- Your order information.
- Your customer information.
Additionally, we collect information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and billing information, for our records, as well as to have a means of contacting you should any problem arise.
We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to: Communicate with you; Optimize or improve the App; and Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not share, sell or license your personal information, or information about your store or clients, with any third parties outside our company other than for the purposes of delivering the Service. We do use various infrastructure providers, such as Google Cloud Platform, and various application service providers, like Postmark and Zendesk to provide certain features like monitoring, debugging, usage analytics.
We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident please note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you would like an export of your customer listing, we will have to download your customer listing from Shopify in order to present it to you), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
We retain any interactions that clients on your site, and managers on your store have with our app, in detail, for 90 days. After that period, a smaller amount of metadata is retained, in order to provide a base-level of analytics to you in your analytics dashboard.
At no level is any personally identifiable information retained by default for your clients. The closest that the app retains as part of its 90-day logs are email addresses for shop managers, and IP addresses for clients on your shop who interact with Spot.
